Facing the music with God

I’m having a conversation with my friend about life’s struggles.. We’re talking about how to overcome obstacles that would otherwise ruin our lives..and the expression “facing the music with God” came to mind.

Facing the music basically means dealing with the consequences of our actions. Sometimes we set ourselves up for some of the struggles we go through. God did indeed say that he would see us through everything, even the problems we bring upon ourselves but by over exercising our free will, some of us have ended up in more than a few ditches 😂. Often, I imagine the number of times Jesus Christ facepalms while watching us on our journey to be righteous! The cool part is that He has experienced what it feels like to be human, to be betrayed, tempted, hungry, angry etc. So he understands us so much more..

It is said in the Bible that the righteous man will fall seven times but will rise up 8. So let’s not allow the spirit of condemnation to set in when we feel down. Jesus died for us because we are messed up and sinful and worn out. So He expects us to focus on him and keep walking with him no matter how many times we fall. He’s there to help us dust off our knees and face the music.

I’ve learned over the past couple of weeks that, prayer helps us to receive the peace of the Holy Spirit and also the joy of the Lord. The best part about praying is that the more you do it, the more you are able to “unlock” different levels of intimacy with God. Like speaking in tongues, battling evil during spiritual warfare etc. Isn’t that just cool.?! I’ve decided to intentionally build up my spirituality by praying more and actively studying the word even on days when I’m feeling sad and insignificant.

You should try it too. There’s great Joy in serving Jesus Christ that you won’t find anywhere else. Trust me.
